Curiosity

Is a new job or career one of your priorities for this year? Are you ready for more joy and inspiration in the process? Let me share with you how you can shift your mindset to curiosity and in the process shift out of fear of change in your life’s work.

If you’re like me, you’re excited for a new career or life work change, and you’re wondering if you can do it, if you can make a change at this stage of your life’s work.

So, you might ask, why curiosity?

Relying on the same familiar skill sets can give you a sense that what you’ve known in the past is the way forward.

However, while you might have skills that can be applied to a new endeavor, letting go of the past as you move forward is key to activating a learning mindset.

I’ll tell you why:

Thinking that because you might be an expert in a certain field, and valued for that contribution that your learning is complete is just not so.

So, embracing a growth mindset, we prioritize learning goals over performance goals; we embrace challenge to expand our skillsets; and we treat failure as a growth opportunity.

Here are some self- reflections that can encourage you to shift to a growth mindset when in the midst of change

· “What am I learning from this experience?”

· “How might this experience change my perspective for the better?”

· “Is there an opportunity to grow from this experience?”

Kudos to you for taking the time to self-reflect today as you learn to thrive in your life’s work.

So, what’s next?

I invite you to join me and my coaching partner, Mary Wallace Jaensch on May 15th at 1 pm EST for an experiential learning webinar where you’ll meet other women leaders in transition in their life’s work. Our interactions will allow you to Activate Your Learning Mindset.
